What a renovation looks like, start to finish.
The new finish is the part everyone sees. The prep, the tile line and the start-up underneath decide how long it lasts, so we show both.

How a resurface works
Four steps from "the plaster is shot" to swimming again.
Most of what makes a finish last happens before the trowels come out and in the weeks after the pool is full.
Look at the pool and price it
Size, shell condition, the old finish, tile, coping and any leak. The written quote lists each line, with the finish options side by side.
Find leaks, then drain
Leaks are tested before the drain-down so cracks and fittings get fixed while the shell is empty. The drain is timed to weather and groundwater so the shell stays put.
Prep, tile and finish
The old surface chipped or ground back, the bond coat on, tile and coping set, then the new plaster, quartz or pebble troweled in a single day.
Fill and start-up
The pool filled without stopping, then brushed and balanced through the start-up so the new finish cures even and smooth.
A new plaster finish keeps curing underwater for about the first 28 days. Daily brushing and careful chemistry in that window, with soft mountain water that wants to eat fresh plaster, are what separate a finish that lasts a decade from one that comes back blotchy and rough. The start-up plan is part of our quote.

My pool is losing water. Is it a leak?
Start with a bucket test: a bucket of pool water on the top step, marked inside and out, for 24 hours with the pump on its normal schedule. If the pool drops more than the bucket, it is a leak. Finding it typically runs $100 to $500. Pool losing water, explained.
